There is nothing like tomorrow is a good project. We have many projects planned for all of our chain that we do not know where to begin. Too many decisions, or thought too much work because most of our projects fall by the wayside and never came to establish. We have a company with a procrastinator, couch potatoes and the award winning inventors of lame excuses. I know I have my moments, and I'm there with you. But if there is a project that wecompleted this year and now this project is to do. It could save our lives, namely the family or loved ones. Help me to help the United States, let off the couch and do a back-up plan, that is a personal disaster recovery plan and kit.
Why do we need a plan? We are ready for a disaster? What happens when the Internet stopped? Whether we are hit by nuclear weapons, an asteroid or a large natural disaster? What is our personal disaster recovery plan?Living in California with the "Big One" happens every day now, we always felt we have enough food and supplies on hand for 72 hours. Is it really enough? See how long it took for deliveries Haiti or cap to achieve what needs to be placed on Gulf oil well. You must not only live in California, a plan and package that everyone everywhere must be prepared.
When I travel on our roads more often, are stuck in traffic parking lot is moving at a snail's pace of lessof 5 km / h. Is usually crawling traffic due to not enough roads for vehicle volume, or because an idiot thought thanked plant in and out of traffic, then slams on the brakes return to their destination faster, maybe dead, but certainly not more fast. As I note in this article, great movement, I often wonder and ask myself, what a devastating earthquake happened, how could we ever survive? We are ready for an infrastructure of disaster? Our roads can not befacilitate our current population movement in a normal day, it would've been disastrous situation has improved?
What about our hospitals, doctors, firemen, paramedics? Is there really enough to go to all as "Big One" hits? We often hear of the news that disaster is already hitting the world with Earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, Indonesia, oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico, the volcanoes in Iceland, or the latest deadly volcano Krakatoa. We shouldof these disasters involved? These are natural disasters are a sign that all our ducks in a row to get to create our own Disaster Recovery Plan at once? America, yes, I think they are all signs for us to prepare for the worst. We must act for ourselves and not depend on other people or other resources, we started making plans and kits from this day forward.
We can not wait for FEMA or Red Cross or anyone else for our problems or our shop. Can not be everything to everyone. There are only so many resources and supplies to go around. We need personal responsibility for our own survival to take. How do we prepare? Well, this is a good question. I think as a first step, we need a good, hard look at our lifestyles and take personal statements of what would need to go forward if all was lost. Make a list of what is truly important in our lives. I think this list should be as short as possible 10-categories or not. We need to abandon our greed, material objects, and simplify. If you have a family, sit down and have a family meeting to discuss this topic. I will put my question to create the basis for a period of two weeks, I prefer a bit 'more than enough for it. I think 72 hours is not even close. Next on my list that I think will be necessary for me and the family to survive:
First Food
According to Water
Third medical supplies and medical records
If you medical problems or allergies life-threatening,
Do you have a medical bracelets and state issues, the type of blood, and medicine. If you have a relative with the disease, I made a bracelet with their name, your name, phone number, address and any other relevant information. I think that our data should be easily visible, and as back up, we should not think of chips as we do for our pets, including the skin, but perhaps the information stored on aMagnetic strip> looks like a credit card or hospital card. Credit card executives, the market here is an idea for you, just remember where the idea came from before.
Fourth Pet Supplies and medical records
Keep a collar on a dog or a cat with a name, telephone number or license tag that identifies your pet.
Fifth prescription medication (s)
Sixth Wind-up torch, radio and phone charger again
Seventh computer backups are stored somewhere else, out-of-state or through a LANstorage facilities.
Create a backup of your system and keep out of place, out-of-state, in a place other than home or office. I have a backup disk, Maxtor, for $ 60 from Office Depot. It is compact and can do everything on my computer. I'm going to send my family on the east coast.
If you have something really important to create a paper version and store off site. I will also send stuff to me through Yahoo, so I can get into cyberspace.
What happens if the Internet really stalled? We are ready to do operations on the basis of a manual, like the old days? I was on a business trip in Tennessee, and there was a strong thunderstorm and the power went out. I was in a restaurant and came back because their computer system crashed. Employees should be instructed on what to do in such situations.
8th Floor of extreme weather conditions, camping, sleeping bag, hot / cold clothing, comfortable shoes, backpack, tent, matches and a Swiss boxcutter.
Ninth articles for personal hygiene
10th ATM Cash probably not operational or poor.
Try to keep items compact and light as possible. Keep a set of elements in car and home. Do you have a backpack ready for any family member who is able to implement one. Each pack snack items can and maybe a deck of cards or a book for children.
I have a good site that is both adetailed description of items to include in your kit at California State University, Long Beach, http://emergency.csulb.edu/supplykit/supplies.
When you create a package, I think you need a communication plan to find out where family members and what they should do if a disaster.
I have identified as routes and what to call phone numbers. I ordered my Sun is in school and if we have an earthquake back home on foot, or whose house to goI would not be nearby. If our local phone system fails or is busy, I teach my son to call the family in our city and state, but the family out-of-state contact his residence and physical health through. If the position designated to leave a comment.
I think a good thing for families to know CPR. I wish my family a class this summer to participate. When investigating how to take a class, it seems that the Red Cross offer courses. I'm sure there areprobably more resources where you can learn to just go online and search for CPR CPR classes. I hope to have a class to fit over the summer. Let's do it together. I think the more we educate ourselves in this area, the greater our chances of survival and ability to our family or other people, basic medical care to help may be all you need for a soul.
As a final point, SITE, I think it is important to make a valid will in place the situation more difficult. It passed throughthis procedure with various family members, it is important to point out every little detail. Some items may seem silly, but if you tell anyone, will not necessarily happen.
• Do you want to bury or cremate?
• Have a family plot, if not where you want to be buried or thrown away?
• What kind of funeral you want, chest closed, simple, religion, occupation times, now called, to be held?
• Want more bodiesgift?
• What kind of coffin do you want?
• What to wear?
There are many types of cases such as steel, bronze, wood and various price ranges. The price of a casket can be alarming rate. My cousin and older sister showed me their preferences when my sister with the sudden death of her husband's face. And my mom showed me that he wanted to wear the appropriate time. Me, I want the simplest possible cremated and the ashes thrown in a meadow ortray. I like the idea of a part of nature. No sea already, seems to be limited.
But what happens if you die and you are in a coma on a respirator and then?
I know this topic is morbid, but it is better to discuss, but we live to wait for someone to make these decisions for you unless you care. Dying can be as complicated as living.
Here are some things to think about and discuss with a lawyer, or you can imagineSeparate documents online through sites like http://www.legalzoom.com.
• Will
• power of attorney for health and finances will be someone to make these decisions for you, you should be qualified.
• Living Will (life support or not)
• Living Trust (if you have many goods, property and wants the bankruptcy court, which can bind the activities for a period of six months or more is a person you want to avoid discussions)
• If you have childrenguardian?
• If you have pets, where do they go?
• If breastfeeding, what is the procedure?
Well, I hope this information is useful for you, and you still start with the plan and their kit. Finally, you must be a good neighbor and look out for your neighbors elderly / disabled and family will need help in an emergency. As always, thanks to all our everyday heroes, our military, fire, police, doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, relatives, etc., because one day you can have first-hand.
